DAY 3

This was a quiet day for us, we thought it a good idea to use it as a 'recover and prepare for Day 4' day.
We headed over to the festival at about 3pm, and wandered around testing the varieties of food and free giveaways on offer.

A few days before I had read about I Blame Coco, who is Sting's daughter, Eliot Sumner, otherwise known as Coco, and her support band.
She is only 20 years old, and I read that before she had even released an album, she had been signed by a record company to a deal for something like 5-6 albums, and therefore I thought, wow, they obviously thinks she has something special, so we thought she should be someone we go and check out.

Pyramid Stage - I Blame Coco

She looked a lot younger than 20, and I couldnt tell if she just had strange mannerisms, or maybe seemed a little mesmerized by the large crowd in front of her, which at that age, obviously no one would blame her. Not that it affected her performance, I just thought she looked a little awkward sometimes.
She has got more musical talent in her little toe than I could ever dream to have at all, showing us her skills on the guitar, keyboard (which she owns a heap of as she collects them), microphone, and even rocked out a couple of Peter Garrett dance moves.
What is her accent though?? Certainly wasn't British. Maybe she puts on an accent without knowing when she's nervous....
I enjoyed her show, and it was also after her show that we discovered that when people leave the area after a band finishes, they leave their empty cups everywhere, so like the true 'scabby Aussies on a budget' that we were, we participated in the fight to pick as many of them up as possible to claim our free drinks. (20 x empty cups = FREE DRINK!) Though we learnt we really were amateurs at that game when you see the effort some people go to, and the amount of cups they were carrying.
But we were good at remembering what we were there for, and that wasn't to spend the whole 4 days looking at the ground looking for cups as it seemed some were doing......
I Blame Coco - 6.5/10

Main Stage - Coldplay

I had never seen Chris Martin's gang live before, and was looking forward to it a lot more than I would've thought.
There are probably a lot of people who don't like Coldplay, or are indifferent to their music. Well, I was someone who knew all of their hits, but have never heard a Coldplay song that wasn't played on the radio.
Well.. BAM!
What a show!
I have a new found musical love for Chris Martin, this guy is a legend.
He really loves what he does, loved talking to the crowd, and involving the crowd in the show, as much as the crowd loved participating in mass singalongs. Even for an undevoted fan like myself, they have so many classics such as Yellow, Fix You, Clocks, The Scientist, Viva La Vida, Violet Hill that there was no time to not be interested and in awe of this guy on stage.
Some didn't appreciate it.....but I felt their use of beach balls/balloons, tickertape, lasers and lights and fireworks all played their part in making this a really first-class show perfect for the huge festival arena.
9/10
